@Leomerya12 If you want wealth, you need to work hard, save, and invest wisely. No socialist politician is actually going to hand you $.

zrofucks2give869 You haven't thought this through. When that big box store makes losses year after year and shuts its doors, where will the thieves go? Porch pirates, burglars and carjackers are a thing.

@brandongreene9615 Do you not get that big or small, a store that's losing its profits to theft is not going to stay in business? The big box stores will leave an area and the little stores won't want to come back in, or won't be approved for loans, due to high crime. Expecting looters to avoid "mom and pop" franchises is like expecting rioters to only burn white- owned liquor stores.

@GameFuMaster Retail theft is nationwide and affects prices throughout the national chain stores.

@GameFuMaster Retail theft is nationwide, just like drug use. As far as competition lowering prices, the "mom and pop" stores can't compete with nationwide chains (who demand lower prices from manufacturers because they buy large volumes of goods). Most of the little stores have already gone out of business. Now, the big box stores are scrambling to compete with online retailers. The online retailers don't have the expense of maintaining an actual store, but a lot of the reason goods are cheaper online than in the store is because they're looted from those same big box stores!

zrofucks2give869 So what happens when the big box stores go bankrupt and there's no longer a place for thieves to grab what they sell on Amazon? Let me guess, you're cool with porch piracy until it's YOUR porch.

@CCLitterer What do you think I'm joking about? This all boils down to supply and demand and human nature. You get more of the behavior you reward and less of what you punish.

@valoredramack9117 This is a downward spiral based on BEHAVIOR. Theives will have fewer job opportunities and resources once the big box stores close and they'll be less likely to be hired when they get themselves criminal records! This isn't a "steal or starve" situation. Welfare programs and grants exist in the USA. YOU might need $60, 000.00 to survive, but if you were paying $1000.00 or less a month for a rent controlled apartment and you got food stamps, you wouldn't need that much.

@rdean150 Wouldn't work for hardware either Contractors need to replace a tool same day because time lost is $ lost.

There's already free public education in the USA! You think telling people " shoplifting bad!" is going to do anything? They know these businesses lose money and close up shop eventually, but they blame "the system," not themselves! They say " they got insurance" but they don't admit that the stores pay higher and higher premiums for that insurance as theft goes up, so they still lose money!

@WaylandYT Ok, we know that sticking looters in jail means they can only steal from each other, so crime is reduced by a tiny percent for the general public with each one that gets incarcerated. How do we know the "better way" is better? How does your magical de-thugification and empowerment ray work and how much does it cost? And why hasn't it already been tried and proven in a rich, ultra liberal part of the country?
