  2.  @pimentocheesesandwich3065  I'm not absolutely sure that's the case in Chicago, but it is in a lot of the country. If someone is struggling in school and needs extra tutoring, that's a different story, but those willing and able to handle work and school shouldn't be denied opportunity.

They provide a cheap source of labor to the agriculture, construction, and restaurant industries, which keeps prices low for you. Someone wants them there or they'd be put on a bus to somewhere else. They didn't "get the money you were fixin' to get paid for reparations". You weren't going to get those anyway with the national debt where it is. The new guys that get work permits will pay taxes, so they're an investment.

  48.  @ladyleo9780  While some places put up barriers to voting such as discriminatory history tests and poll taxes it's not accurate to say that no blacks could vote until after the Civil Rights Act. You can search portraits of black politicians elected during the reconstruction period after the Civil War .
