@dianerogers8805 You may have to adhere rigid foam board to the brick between wood furring strips. You can use tapcon screws to affix the wood furring strips to the brick which will then support panelling.

@lordwhitesk1n996 If you insulate right, it also helps keep the air conditioned air inside so that it's cooler in the summer.

@dianerogers8805 What materials is the house made of? I'm sure there is some method of retrofitting it with insulation. This is done all the time with the brownstone row houses in NY.

@dianerogers8805 The tapcon screws and drill bits I mentioned are designed for use in brick, cinder block, and stone. The brand name is probably different in the UK.
