@_asphobelle6887 "No True Scotsman" isn't a real fallacy. If you have a religious or political group and someone identifies as one of you while opposing your platform, are they really one of you? There has to be some gatekeeping or the label means nothing. If a Korean Lady who thinks Edward the Long Shanks is the best king ever and has never been to Scotland identifies as a Scotsman, is she a True Scotsman?

@_asphobelle6887 Predators want to be in with the sheep. They take advantage of religious groups that have been trained to "forgive others as they hope to be forgiven themselves" and to not spread rumors (report suspicions) lest they "murder" someone's good reputation. Plus, it's a position of trust and authority which gives the perpetrator's word more weight than the victim's. There are also people within the church that wrongly believed that exposing criminals would drive people away and be the greater evil.

Probably in a state with a low age of consent. Did he or the parents press charges?

Female victims of statutory by older men have to pay to raise their babies all the time.

@_asphobelle6887 That's because predators want to attain a position of power and trust. They always have plausible deniability. It's the word of a victim with less authority against theirs.

@rationallyright4626 No, priests should have some morals and keep their vows of celibacy.

@AbsoluteTruth-vm1zb Female victims of statutory pay $ to raise their babies all the time. Barely makes the news. A 15 year old boy who gets his 14 yo GF pregnant is liable for child support.

@AbsoluteTruth-vm1zb If the underage female victim must support a child, then it's not "discrimination" for the underage male to have to do so as well.

@_asphobelle6887 You're making a strawman argument. Just because they work for the church, they may not believe or follow God. They may just want to hold a position of trust and authority.
