Letting low income housing in your backyard can have major negative consequences! A " low income" apartment complex was put in behind my parents' house. In order for neighbors to approve construction, the apartment complex LIED about having a community center that would be open to the neighborhood (actually open to renters only) and also said that a parking garage would be facing the backyards ( actually two story apartment buildings were built right next to the fence, so that the neighbors no longer have privacy). The kids from the complex would yell insults at my parents and throw things such as fast food trash and underwear at them when they were working in their garden. One time the brats even set a fire that melted part of the fence between the complex and my parents' yard! I called the police on them because the apartment manager's phone always went to an answering machine, with no call back. Getting a discount on housing ( paid for by taxpayers) is a privilege! Stand up for your community and call the cops if you have to! Poverty does not excuse lowlife behavior! "Struggling" is no excuse to not discipline your kids and let them grow into packs of brainless bullies with no respect for their elders! Edit: Wanted to add that this was in a working class hispanic neighborhood and my parents were among the people that voted FOR the low income complex.

@rebeccanewman8391 What I'm saying is that there are legit reasons (such as crime, vandalism and harassment) for someone to not want a low income complex in their neighborhood! It's not like everyone who objects is a rich SOB who hates the poor and whose only values are "property values". I'm sure there are brainless lowlifes in society's upper class, too ( probably off snorting cocaine and getting the maid pregnant). But that doesn't excuse the bad behavior of people in low income housing in any way. I think lowlife is as lowlife does. These kids and their half-assed parents need to be held to the same standards as anyone else. Is setting fires, picking fights and throwing trash into neighbors' yards "smart and classy" in your opinion? What would someone have to do for you to consider them a brainless lowlife?
