The rich aren't going to stick around and be capped. They'll leave to a tax haven.

They need to learn English and Chinese. Every nurse or engineer that goes abroad sends $ back home. Isolation is a stupid idea for countries that are broke AF.

@munchezfonataba Also a common language for close captions of video footage. Good point.

Immersion teaches language. There's no way Florida can find teachers that can do all the subjects in Nahuatl or whatever for the kids that don't even speak Spanish. It'd be a good idea to get some bilingual aides in the classrooms to help explain things if there's room in the budget.

@anamariaguadayol2335 It's 2023 though, and you can learn English from a phone app. I agree it would be best if they had someone teaching them remedial English maybe after school or instead of study hall/art/PE. But for some classes such as math or art the primary language wouldn't matter as much. Do the students there not have ANY English language arts class? The goal of the district where I grew up was to transition the Spanish speaking kids into regular classes ASAP so they didn't fall behind.

@anamariaguadayol2335 If the district's too broke to afford art or PE, then they sure can't afford separate classes to instruct the kids in their different native languages. I'm pretty sure ( since it's Florida) some of the teachers speak a little Spanish so they can help them pick up English as they go along. Why's the district so broke, anyway? Did they cut a bunch of businesses a property tax break to get them to relocate, or what? I speak English and Spanish. I was saying before, where I grew up they did have Spanish speaking classes for K and pre-K, but they tried to transition kids into English-speaking classes ASAP.

@DizzyBusy You're a 13 year old refugee from El San Banana with a 10 word English vocabulary. Are you going to sit on your thumbs waiting for " somebody to do something" or are you going to download an app?

@anamariaguadayol2335 The OP said something about the teachers "not being allowed" to teach the kids English, though? Seems like they'd at least have REGULAR English class so all the kids could learn to read and spell? This whole thing doesn't add up. I was saying the immigrant kids probably pick up the language some even without specific instruction although bilingual teachers or aides would be ideal to explain other subjects such as math.

@anamariaguadayol2335 Generic smart phones aren't that expensive now. You don't need an unlimited phone plan AND internet, one or the other is fine. Don't a lot of schools have tablets for students? What the OP says doesn't add up.

@anamariaguadayol2335 English and Spanish have about the same characters. It's nothing like the gap between English and Hebrew!

@me-ye6ld Sounds like you want to "eat the rich" and you expect them to hop onto your fork! In a democracy, leaders have to get themselves elected. That means manufacturing consent, which requires $$$$ for ads. Corporations have $ and they buy both sides. Far-left smash-the-state nut jobs aren't going to get sponsored, so they can't pay to play and they sit on the sidelines complaining.
