The poor in general are blamed for lack of success because the VISIBLE POOR are seen doing drugs and stealing.

These two are playing dumb. Sure, graduation, marriage and a full time job are no "100% guarantee" of success, but it sure beats the hell out of having a couple kids as an unemployed teen dropout!

@lisac6399 People think there's all this feminism now and sexual harassment is a thing of the past. Any lowlife women who su¢k up to the bosses make life harder for decent women who just want to do their work and be paid fairly.

He makes a couple good points,(such as calling out states for sitting on cash) but he's kind of a ding-dong. Nobody's going to just integrate homeless junkies into their gated community. It all boils down to impulse buying versus thriftiness and delayed gratification. People who don't have good sense and good morals are going to get taken advantage of.

Health is wealth. A first aid kit as a basic prep is a good investment. I use peroxide to clean out any deep puncture wound or animal bite. It costs about a dollar a bottle. Apply pressure around the wound so that it drains out. Clean the wound right away and repeat the process if it turns red or swells. You may want to saturate a cotton ball with the peroxide and tape it over the puncture (after applying triple antibiotic ointment) using a bandage. If it stays red or worsens, you'll need oral antibiotics. Don't put it off like this guy's friend did!

Pay per mile is pretty cheap. They mail you a little device that plugs into your car's code reader port. Allstate and a lot of the insurers offer it. Works good if you don't drive much.

It's ALL about impulse buying versus being thrifty and delaying gratification! Every payment has to be processed, so it costs them less to process 2 payments than 12, ( the debit or credit card company charges them a fee each time) so you save. Paying in advance to save is just smart. Same as paying cash for a used car or furniture versus "low low payments" that eat you up with interest charges! Same as the large food package having a lower price per ounce than buying a bunch of little packages!

Paying bank fees is a choice. Read the small print when you open that account! If the big bank doesn't treat you right, check the credit union, online bank, or the little bank. You're not married to your financial institution! Don't go to the check cashing place/ payday loan place that you know is going to take your money!

@Sellbow There was internet since the early 90's. And someday you'll be the " lucky bastard" who didn't have to compete with A.I...
1
@Sellbow Yeah, but most people still aren't making money on the internet today except as a side hustle. And most are lying about what they make online to get you in their pyramid scheme or just for clout. There was a lot of multi level marketing BS back then too but it was more in-person than through social media. The internet did ruin things for certain professions like travel agents and newspaper reporters. Probably best to avoid jobs that can be done by A. I. , such as writing ad copy and graphic design. There were plenty of economic doomers saying success was impossible back when he was your age. A 53 year old would have gone through the Y2K scare, the crash following the online stock bubble,( people who were all-in on America Online never made their $ back),and the crash of 08.

@lickalotlickalot2210 Nope. Educated women in good paying jobs can support their kids and are able to leave if Dad turns out to be a loser. Women with no job skills have no choice but to stay with an abuser or hit the streets, and that's when CPS takes the kids.
