@jasoncoreas9432 Who said the workforce is shrinking?? It's the jobs that are shrinking due to mechanization!

@ReysRants BS. People starved to death during the Great Depression. Did you get your history propaganda from tikky app? Those influencers are paid to say "you'll never succeed" to get suckers to doomspend!

@macmcleod1188 All good advice but you're talking to a bot thread, not a person.

@katt-w2d Ok then, why can't you make money? Are you on disability? If not, you can work and figure out how to live on less than you make. Earned income can be invested within a 401k or IRA, which cuts your taxes.

@DavidKroff Inflation in the USA was actually LESS than in the rest of the world under Biden. Tariffs will hit the Wal Mart/$Tree/Harbor Freight shoppers hardest when they're passed to the consumers as higher prices.
1
@darylfoster7944 Or, they're smart enough to ALSO invest outside of their 401k and IRA once they're maxed out for the year. Or they buy a fixed immediate annuity and take out standard equal periodic payments.
1
@darylfoster7944 Or they use a Roth IRA or Roth 401k, which has different withdrawal rules...
1
@DavidKroff The president doesn't have a magic inflation dial on his desk. Do you think Trump is magic and can control shortages from foreign wars and crop failures?
1
@darylfoster7944 Annuities are a way to hedge your bets against outliving your money. And you don't pay tax on the full monthly amount because some of it's your money back. The other thing is, you can set up withholding if you don't want the hassle of paying income taxes quarterly. But you have to be very careful because some of the people that sell annuities are crooked .
1
@DavidKroff Don't you know the budget has to go through Congress? The first year of the new president's administration is under the budget voted on during the last president's term. What do you call the money spent on the border FENCE that Mexico sure didn't "pay for"? Are you ok with the money printed for Trump's stimulus but not Biden's? What about the tens of billions handed to Musk by both parties? It's clearly not just one party spending money.

@darylfoster7944 Well, yeah, that's why early retirees ONLY take out the $ they put into the Roth at least five years ago, not the EARNINGS, so that they don't have to pay penalties!

@darylfoster7944 /\nnuities aren't for agressive gains, they're a way to hedge your bets against outliving your money. I don't agree with "no savings" unless you have maxed out your retirement accounts and have a significant amount of stocks in a taxable account you can sell. You should have enough saved to cover several months' salary and/or replace your vehicle. Economic downturns (drop in value of stocks) are often accompanied by layoffs.
