Hey, at least he's selling the propaganda books wholesale (for what they cost him) so, no profit! You know he's paying out the a**for the coffee if it's organic and fair trade, so the markup probably covers the salaries. I'm surprised he stayed in business as long as he did, being "employee run" since it's just about impossible to do anything by committee! At least the guy tried, most of these dudes will never put their effort into what they say they believe.

@juanche978 Great! So as long as you identify as a "cooperative" rather than business partners, and go into business to lose money/ break even, you're not evil capitalists even if you accidentally make a couple billion!

@aglassofmilk5779 I've met some ex-Cuban doctors and their training was about LVN/CNA level. So, a lot of that's hype. At least they care about the environment some since they'll be below sea level if the oceans rise ( according to NASA).

These guys don't want to be Cuba and Venezuela, they want to be Finland. They don't want to suffer through a revolution, they just want to "eat the rich" and get free food, housing, etc. from the government.

The anarchists believe in law, but they think social pressure is enough and there's no need for government or law enforcement. I'd like to see more of these dudes do similar experiments. Maybe they might learn something from the real world.

@r.8902 Maybe you just thought the symbol looked cool and really, really hated politicians!

@r.8902 People told me I was an anarchocapitalist but I ran across some of those guys and they were douche bags, so I think I just don't like politicians!

@foxwoodjones9831 I guess as long as he's breaking even or losing money, it doesn't count as capitalism! You know his merch has got to cost him quite a bit wholesale because it's all organic and holistic and fair trade...the markup probably barely covers the baristas' salaries. Remember, they're part owners and vote on prices!

@goofygrandlouis6296 Sure they would have. Nobody loves the work itself, but they love the financial independence. They're just following the fashion and pop psychology trends of the day, just like people back then did. If it was the 50's, a couple of them might have put on berets and recited beatnik poetry at the cafe on their nights off.

@gamezdude5544 Capitalism works about 25% of the time if that often repeated stat that "75% of new businesses fail" is accurate. I give this guy kudos for at least trying his idea and working because most people on the political fringes just run their mouths!

@gamezdude5544 That " 75% of new businesses fail" figure is just one of those things everybody tells you, similar to "you only use 10% of your brain". I don't even know who came up with it in the first place. According to Exploding Topics, the rate at which new ventures fail is now 90% (although I think they used a 15 year time frame). I've found that a lot of these leftists have a definition of capitalism that involves the "motivation of getting rich" in addition to the usual definition of exchanging goods or services for currency. So as long as coffee guy isn't planning to get rich, he's "cool". Some of the more successful socialist y t channels have corporate sponsors, but that's "going to fund the revolution", so that's ok with them.

@juanche978 Where would you draw the line between capitalist "business partners" and a "cooperative" then? Both groups are splitting profits. Apparently this guy is the unofficial head and hired the other "owners".
