  1. Extremes of heat AND cold are why they changed the name to climate change from global warming. Not sure what stations you watch, the news reports deaths from cold plenty. They're still talking about deaths in the TX freeze the other year whenever they mention the power grid.

  2. I read somewhere that the native people in Tierra Del Fuego (coldest part of South America, closest to Antarctica) used to have a body temperature a degree higher than average! (That was before immigration and the locals dying off from imported diseases).
