  1. Clearly a horrible idea for something as complex as computers. that may have been a good idea for the car industry or radios. but with computers you also want 3rd party software and hardware. and sometimes the best stuff is made in other countries.

  2. in the 70s almost every country that was not super poor or small tried to make their own stuff. but now only a few have the guts to do it.

  4. Mmmh i wonder why countries like brazil and many others failed to compete with America ? what did America do differently from other countries ? i don't know maybe we can figure it out with more government subsidies and import taxes and state monopolies.
