  1. starship troopers always seemed like a movie were the politics was just something they quickly made up to make things seem more edgy. a lot of 90s movies avoided real life politics or only made super vague references. the villains were usually just evil for greed or because they had bloodlust .the good guys were usually apolitical and were just caught up in a situation caused by the villains. i should check out the books just the fact that it was written in 1959 and the movie is form 1997 and feels like it was made in 1997 should be telling that its radically different even when it comes to more basic stuff like how the starships work .
