Yea they can probably make probes that are extremely tiny and don't use radio waves to communicate or they can have cloaking that makes a ship invisible to us or maybe they can create artificial gravitational lenses that can make a telescope way more powerful or maybe they got something completely unknown to us

  3. I think they hope they find some advanced tech that would give them a advantage its very unlikely and not the main reason they went to space but if they can find something from a advanced civilization it really could change everything so its something they really wish for.

  5. I am going to assume aliens would have a lot of tricks we don't have like microscopic probes or some kind of technology that can overcome the limits of telescopes with some kind of artificial gravitational lensing.
