i was born in the 90s i started walking to school at 12 i went to shops since i was 6 but the school was quite far. i originally had to take the bus but i found a hidden path in the woods that made it faster to walk i also got into gambling when i was 5 but stopped when i was 6 because i wasn't winning anything .

people born 1975 to 2000 had the best childhood the way i understand the past was that basically the parents could do whatever they wanted .so this was good if you had good parents and bad if you had bad parents. nowadays things are better if you have bad parents since they are more likely to be stopped but if you got good parents they will be limited in what they can teach and do to solve problems. i think, most people who say the boomers had a good time are American in mainland Europe and to a lesser extent in the uk there was still damage from ww2 that had to be fixed. and in some countries you had less rights and freedoms because the church was still powerful and other reasons. in some countries like Ireland or Portugal things were really bad until later on.
