  2. yea reddit is hostile to people with poor english skills. here on youtube you can find a lot of stuff in other languages too and you don't need to worry about downvotes lowering your karma

  4. there used to be a lot more things similar to reddit but they are abandoned and don't show up on google search often. reddit is the only mainstream site that has useful info in text form made by regular people .everything else is stuff like Instagram twitter youtube. but sometimes you just want to quickly read the answers and i like how reddit doesn't force you to log in to read posts. but i am sure they will start doing that like twitter and Instagram and Quora
