I think Ireland is unique in the 2000s 90s 80s it was the most conservative country in western Europe while most of western Europe had a nice balanced secular era during those decades. and you have to go far back in history to find when things were truly conservative in countries like France or Sweden. so i think a lot of people in Ireland are overcompensating for that and don't want to give the right another chance .
