  1. this would have been a big problem if the internet was more popular in 1991 they had domains for Czechoslovakia and east Germany and Yugoslavia and the ussr. but nobody used those because almost nobody was using the internet back then at all. the Yugoslavia domain was still used in the 2000s so that one got some actual use and the Ussr domain never got cancelled for some reason but the internet is young.
