This is why democracy is important your leader can just do anything in a dictatorship and when they mess up like this there is nothing you can do the dictator may have started out as a good leader but changed over the years and went crazy in a democracy you can just try to get someone else elected and it takes a very basic level of competence to get elected.

Not trying to defend china but i live in western Europe and when 9/11 happened we got a lot of propaganda in school and 10 years later we got a lot of propaganda in the Arab spring too in 2011 not as bad as this but still not great i am sure its happening in schools in my country today about Ukraine (i am not 100% sure because i have no kids and i am not in school anymore)
