Comments by "belstar" (@belstar1128) on "Why Birth Rates are Declining Everywhere" video.
In pre modern times women had to work a lot too but they did different work from the men. only for a short period in the mid 20th century could the average woman work. and the birth rates in america and europe had already declined by that time. in 1950 women in north America had 3 kids on average but in 1850 they had over 6 on average.

I saw a lot of old videos from that time where they where worried about overpopulation. it started in the 17th or 18th century but birth rates didn't drop until more recently .in europe they dropped after ww2. in a lot of other regions they started dropping in just the last few decades.

They are just look at the stats for Nigeria.

But the growth rate has slowed soon the global population will decline it will probably peak at 11 billion.

Yea indeed this is happening everywhere

@Ulrna it will still take a long time for it to happen .it will probably be between 50 to 80 years from now when we peak. but the growth has slowed. just look up the stats in the 1960s there was 2x more growth .and you can see it dropped in every region. but some dropped faster than others

It wont work the mindset of most people is selfish. and because denmark only started doing this recently most people still think they are overpopulated.

That wont work people wont even realise they need kids until they are already too old.

Yet people in 3rd world countries are raising kids just fine.

Yea in some African countries it has already halved in just 20 years and in India its almost as bad as Europe now. but this has happened in a very short time. but how old are these people you are talking to? they probably just parrot something they saw on tv in 1990 and never looked into it again. Only in the last few years has the mainstream media started talking about it.

Well it seems like a side effect of good living standards so there is a positive aspect to this. if birth rates are dropping in Africa and south Asia this means that poverty is going away. however the birth rates can't get too low for a very long. time right now we still have a lot of people that believe outdated propaganda about overpopulation. recently the mainstream media and the leaders of the world are starting to realise the problem with low birth rates. but it has only been a few years. even todays 18 year old zoomers grew up with constant panic about overpopulation that didn't stop until they where already in highschool a few years ago. even just a few days ago i saw a left wing youtuber freak out about over population. it also depends on the region countries like newzealand are underpopulated while other places are overpopulated.

It depends on the region some places like newzealand and Lithuania are underpopulated.
