it is really important most old websites that got shut down didn't get a replacement. so lets say there was a website that was created in 1996 and it got shut down in 2004 that website would just get a good replacement in 2004. but if that 2004 website got shut down in 2015 it probably didn't get a replacement because they just expect people to use facebook .but facebook lacks the basic features and content that was on the first 2 because it was not designed for that but many people can just find it on the wayback machine. a good example is on Wikipedia when you go down to the sources you notice that pretty much every link is dead but there is another link that goes to the wayback machine these websites are usually from the 2000s and got abandoned and not replaced by more modern equivalents s a lot of companies and organisations rely on it now. its strange but it seems harder to launch a new website and get views now compared to the 2000s most users now avoid more minor sites because they assume everything is on the big ones but its not always. other people have made services similar to the wayback machine but they were made more recently and don't have any pre 2010 stuff .

we need to start convincing people to try other search engines most people are not tech literate and think google is the only one tell your friends and family to try other search engines

@SecondaryChuckle its better because nowadays everyone uses the same few sites so they can block the ai companies
