@CPorter That was earlier and more reasonable. in the early days of youtube there was almost no copyright protection. by 2011 they had good copyright protection. but sopa basically made the punishment for copyright infringement much more severe. and they would block sites that didn't comply .and it would affect the entire internet.

We should archive the archive .also just remove the books not worth it .they are probably available somewhere else just make sure the wayback machine stays up. it has a lot of old 90s and 2000s websites that are not anywhere else. there are other internet archives but they are too new they only got post 2010 websites .i was just checking out what the major websites of the time where doing after 9/11. it was pretty interesting very different from today's culture.

@CPorter Oh ok same here. but a lot of my favourite youtubers made a lot of videos about sopa back then. but i didn't have an account. i did not see the point of commenting until 2013. but i would just check out my favourite youtubers every few days .so i was aware of some drama that happened in those years.

@CPorter It was some weird copyright thing .it would punish youtube if someone uploaded something copyrighted. but tis too hard to filter it out. and we all know how many things are copyrighted that shouldn't be .so it could have ruined youtube or at least make it way worse.
