The difference between this and a normal disc is that this disc is compact.

There is a video from the year 1900 that is in hd but it has some film degradation but it still looks way better than 99% of videos from the 80s

About the part where you ask why would someone want to own this back in the day? well i was not around at the time but i heard almost every teenager at the time tried to start their own rock band. usually very unsuccessful. but if they where more wealthy supper middle class they could get this for high quality future proof recordings.

I remember these things being very common in the 90s.

They should have made a vcr with a simple computer or game console build that could load games and other things from the vhs tape that also contained a movie. you could also load the game first and then use the movie as a background. or maybe it could add multiple subtitles that you could choose in a menu or put a cursor on the screen and if you click in certain things in the movie it could give you some trivia. it probably would have sucked and flopped but a cool gimmick for some people back in the day before dvd. there where game consoles that used vhs but these where not proper game consoles. they where just pre programmed light gun games or racing games that used the movie as a background but didn't load in any data.

@Valery0p5 I noticed that when you use the translate option it wont censor it but then you will need to deal with crappy google translate and you probably only speak English anyway.

I don't think they use this in my region because if they did not all lights would be turned on at the same time they will turn on the lights in different towns at different times. recently they started turning off the lights between midnight and 4:00 on less busy streets to save power because the politicians messed up and made the grid less efficient. my country is known for having more street lighting than most countries some say too much. a few years ago they installed new streetlights and they are so bright i thought there was some kind of party going on next door .anyway i am sure they just got someone in a control room somewhere in the city who turns on the lights or they just got a timer.

It seems like almost everything that is not analog tech was invented in the 70s and 80s a lot of things that i did not even had access to in the 90s and early 2000s. where first invented back then.
