A Schwerpunkt video about something that happened when i was already alive i didn't expect that ? but i think 2004 is interesting was probably one of the last years when you couldn't get very fast info from the internet .yes i know the internet existed in 2004 but it was mostly limited to desktop and in countries like Iraq very few people could afford internet access until later on. so you had to rely on newspapers and tv if you cared about this. a few years later random solider and civilians could just film the battle with their phones and upload it .also if you are going to make videos about modern war please make a video about the 2nd Congo war if you want to because it was huge but often overlooked.

Never forget your ancestors and their struggles.

I have to admit that when I first found your content I was also making a lot of assumptions about you and your politics. because a lot of youtubers just end up becoming political propaganda after a while.

I like how this channel doesn't just explain what happened but the mentality of people in the past and the politics. it was quite different before the 18th century and most people have more of a cartoonish view of early history. like the movie 300 or brave heart. you are a true old school youtuber that doesn't care about popularity or money. it's rare these days it seemed more common 15 years ago. I sometimes make joke comments I hope you accept them.

You really explained how and why. Christianity became the main religion in Europe. I didn't understand why people choose it over paganism but now it all makes sense. and I think if I was alive back then I would have probably also converted. Voluntarily.

an interesting and overlooked region

interesting video i think that in the west for most of history getting a wife was quite easy .then you had a period from maybe 1960 to 2010 when getting a wife was even easier but most people would end up divorcing after just a few years .but nowadays we are entering a new age of prudishness were most women only want do do it in the most optimal conditions and you can see more censorship in the media compared to 20 years ago i am not sure how this could happen maybe people are just burnt out .i also think one simple reason why you shouldn't cheat and why monogamy is better that most people don't talk about is simply because if your wife knows you well you will get more pleasure .if she just learned who you are its going to be mediocre since everyone has different interests. after that you of course have many more reasons like it being unstable and not good for raising kids. but even the simplest reason why people may do this often ends up in disappointment so don't do it .

Even as a secular person i must admit the cross is a beautiful symbol

i think the church stuff can sometimes be confusing since most people these days don't know much about it. i myself was quite confused by some of the terms used. i didn't realise Christianity was this complex. read the bible when i was a kid and went to church a few times but i quickly became atheist and i assumed the religion was always the same and there was no room for change and different interpretations. i have no idea why people would have an anti Italian bias if you care about history at all you should know that Italy has always been amazing .

The bois are coming

another thing i wonder is how dating worked in societies that are very gender segregated .i think my biggest problem with find a girlfriend is that i don't have a lot of hobbies that are popular among women most women are so different from men its hard to find things in common. i think that in the 20th century it was easier because you had to spend more time outside socialising since you didn't have any entrainment at home .but i know in the past and in some modern societies men and women are not allowed to interact much i now some cultures have arranged marriages but i don't think that was everywhere its quite confusing

This is a fascinating era the start of modernity

Latin title ? optime!

My grandparents went from surviving this to living a luxurious modern life. but to my grandparents grandparents war was as natural as the weather. and never believed in a peaceful western Europe.
1
quite modern for you my grandparents were growing up during this time .they are the last people in western Europe who had to survive really bad conditions that were normal for my more distant ancestors for all of history .lets hope it stays like this but i doubt it .

You can really bring history to life
1
Very obscure history can you make some videos about pre 16th century south east Asian warfare it's very overlooked
1
The early 18th century is very overlooked im not sure what things were like in 1710. was it still very similar to the 17th century? or were things already starting to resemble the era of George Washington or the 7 year war.
1
This era is interesting since with firearms war is starting to resemble modern war. but it seems like there was way more war in Europe over relatively minor things. even the 19th century was way more peaceful while in the early modern era you were lucky to have 10 years of peace.

i was born in the late II millennium...... ad

most of these links go to sites from the early 2000s that only existed for a few years .these days they stopped making modern equivalents to those sites or they are all paywalled .

The good Samaritans

it always blows my mind how the Mongol empire could be so powerful only to fizzle out relatively quickly.
1
Have you made videos about the manchu? They are quite interesting and overlooked

Isn't it a fantasy country in that tno mod thing. it's supposed to be an alternative history were there is a country called burgundy in modern times. it's silly but it seems to be the first thing that shows up online when you search burgundy
1
well that was a thing
1
Yea true but it was easier to split up because it was a multilingual country that has been unstable for a while. and a lot of people hated them for what happened earlier in history. Austria was very powerful but was seen as an outdated feudal relic.
1
I don't know but judging from some other Hungarian surnames it's probably something really silly. and maybe even part of an 18th century joke that went out of control
1
Ok I think I found the meaning it's just an old Hungarian variant of "George" a common name in many European languages including English that originated from Greek likely you had an ancestors with that name at some point probably in the 18th century and was not very creative or didn't see the point of a last name like a lot of people back then
1
he should make videos about south east Asia the history of the region is mysterious to me but seems to be well documented compared to African or native American history at least .
