@ Sorry to hear that your mother had to wait so long for surgery. Maybe it depends on what province you live in, because I’ve had a few health problems in my life and had great doctors and not had to wait an extended amount of time. And didn’t pay anything.

I wouldn’t want to become an American. My American friend pays $1,800.00 per month for health insurance for him and his wife. And they pay a deductible on top of paying $1,800.00 per month. And the hospital is fighting with the insurance company because the insurance company doesn’t want to pay the hospital. What a nightmare. And the kids aren’t safe in school.

@xcalibur1986 Yes, I understand that I didn’t pay out of pocket, but paid with my taxes. But I would rather have a health care system set up like Canadas compared to be bankrupt in the states. I read an article …Homes lost, savings destroyed. The Americans in the article have huge medical debts…colon surgery ( $850,00.00), twisted intestine ($250,000.00), cancer ($350,000.00). One gentleman got a 1.1 million dollar bill after surviving COVID 19. That is what I would be afraid of, if I was American. You think your insurance is going to cover you, but then your claim is denied and you are stuck with a huge bill. I didn’t know Health Canada was clawing anything back. What are they clawing back?
