Tariffs on Canada and Mexico have been put on pause until March 1/2025. Cars, lumber, ( housing prices will go up), groceries, aluminum, steel, cloths, electricity, water, will go up by 25% .
A $25,000.00 car will go up in price by $6,250.00 compared to the price today because of the 25% tariff on steel and 25% tariff on aluminum coming from Canada. That price will go up starting March 12/2025 as decided by Trump a few days ago.
The American people will pay the tariff, not the country of origin…like Trump kept telling the American people.
Tariffs of 25% on Mexico will be starting March 1/2025. The tariffs on China are 10%. If you buy one product from Canada, one item from Mexico and one item from China….the price will be 60% higher in March compared to today. Trump kept saying the price of groceries would go down on day one. With tariffs being added, the price of groceries and everything else will be going sky high.

Canadians spent 20.5 billion dollars vacationing in the U.S. in 2024. I would think most of that money was spent in Florida.
Yes, many Canadians are selling their homes and condos in the U.S. And many are vowing they will never step into the U.S. until Trump and Musk are gone.
Many Canadians aren’t buying anything from the U.S. They are not going McDonald’s, Home Depot, Wendy’s, etc. Checking the labels on food and buying the Mexican oranges rather than the U.S. oranges. There are signs in most supermarkets now…telling us if the product is Canadian. The shelves with U.S. products are full, as far as I’ve seen, because no one is buying them.
Many are cancelling Netflix and other streaming channels. If it’s from the U.S….Canadians are cancelling it.
Also, there are many countries in solidarity with Canada, so they aren’t buying U.S. products either. From what I’ve read , Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain , Portugal, Belgium and the European countries.
I don’t think your representatives know how much the U.S. is going to suffer because of Trump and Musk. I’ve read that U.S. companies are getting calls from Canada, cancelling their product because there is no demand any more, (milk) and Canadian companies are looking for other buyers. They will sell to anyone, but the U.S.
Trumps tariffs will be added March 1st. Americans will be paying 25% more for gas, oil, groceries, lumber, aluminum, steel, water, electricity etc. An American that buys a $25,000.00 car will cost $6,500.00 more next month because of the 25% tariff. ( steel and aluminum). Trump told Americans that it would be the country of origin that would pay the tariffs. No the Americans pay the tariffs.
If you are phoning your representatives anyway…maybe add on the fact that almost everyone in the U.S. will be affected by the tariffs, since many countries around the world are boycotting U.S. products. Canada and all of these countries mentioned are also angry because of Trump saying he is going to annex Canada. So the anger is not just because of the tariffs….its also because Trump said he would annex Canada.

Most Canadians are not buying anything with a U.S.A. sticker, since Trump said he would annex Canada. And then Trump added 25% tariffs on Canada, so Canadians are mad. Many Canadians have sold their houses and condos in Florida and have cancelled their trips to Florida, Texas etc. Also, many are not going to McDonalds, Wendy’s, Home Depot, etc. and canceling Netflix. If it is from the U.S.A….then Canadians aren’t buying it anymore.
Canadians spent 20.5 billion dollars in the U.S. in 2024. That amount will be down by quite a bit in 2025.
I read yesterday that the countries in solidarity with Canada are United Kingdom, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands, France, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, and the European countries. Most of those countries are not buying anything with a U.S. sticker either.
25% tariffs on Canadian cars, oil, gas, electricity, water, steel, aluminum, cloths, lumber, minerals, groceries, etc will be added March 1st.
A $ 25,000.00 car will cost $6,500.00 more next month because of the steel and aluminum 25% tariff Trump added.
Mexico will have 25% tariffs added March 1/2025. China has a 10% tariff. The Americans pay the tariffs, not the country where the product originated from.
