I have lived abroad, what I don't like about it is that unless you are a citizen of the country you move to, you effectively have no rights or protections from the government. Periodically governments will seize the assets of foreigners, even places like Switzerland. If you are or become a citizen of the place you want to move to, then it is much better. But if you can't, you are setting yourself up for trouble. Also, I don't like how you can't really defend yourself in most countries with anything other than your hands. I was living in Thailand but after I learned in the late 1970s they went around and confiscated all foreigners property at gunpoint, I was like ok yeah, no thanks. Then I reviewed history, including US history, and realized how vulnerable you are as someone in a foreign land without citizenship, and sometimes even then.
