  2. No, if China attacks Taiwan we will go to war. This isn't Ukraine, we have zero vital interests in Ukraine. Ukraine is a giant waste. But Taiwan is vital to our strategic interests, vital to the defense of Japan who already said they would aid Taiwan if attacked by China. We are treaty bound to defend Japan. We have to honor our treaties, trust in the US is already low enough. You are overly simplistic in your thinking, things don't work like that. If China would "just refuse" to go attack Taiwan that would be great. But we all know that isn't gonna happen. You need to be realistic. I am generally against foreign intervention, but this is one that effects us, whether your realize it or not.
