  1. I don't agree 100% that a love relationship with a member of the opposite sex is necessary, at least for men. Look at monks. I don't think people would gravitate towards that lifestyle and stay in it if it made them miserable. But monks are not the common folk. For the common folk, I would say yes you need a partner.
