  5. I never was there long enough to get an apartment, but people were pretty nice to me, and very complimentary about my appearance which was flattering. I just don't see their policies as xenophobic, I see them as protective. Xenophoia means you don't like anyone outside your group. Not that they protect their country, culture, and people from damaging or unwanted foreign influence.

  7. I totally understand that as someone who does not drink or smoke or do drugs. Drinking is almost a requirement for recreational social interaction in the US, or smoking weed. If you like activities like chess, that is even more isolating. I've made the most friends in martial arts classes and at the gym. I am very into firearms and like to keep up my military training, but I do not like to hunt, and all the guys hunt, eat meat etc. We can have good interactions training, but as for hanging out with them when we are not training, no thanks. I don't have the sexual issue tho, if anything I have slept with too many women and it caused me to pass up many good partners. Also the older you get the more difficult it is if you don't have kids.

  16. As an American, I am deeply disgusted and disturbed that we dropped nuclear weapons on defenseless Japanese civilians. I think it is a horrific war crime, and the people who ordered it and did it were the absolute scum of the human race. I feel the same about the firebombing of Dresden, and other allied war crimes. Churchill was mass murderer, he starved 7 million Bengalis to death so he could take their food. Churchill will one day be remembered in infamy. Hirohito tried to surrender to the US prior to the bombings, but was ignored. This was deliberate. Harry Truman was a traitor to the US. I wasn't alive until 4 decades after the end of ww2, but I am still incredibly saddened and ashamed of what earlier generations did. Could not me more tragic and evil. I beg forgiveness from all Japanese people!! You didn't deserve that, no one does.

There is no "tension" between American and Japanese core values. Some of the values are the same, some different, but what causes tension , if anything, is how they are expressed differently. As well as different expectations. Americans also have a lot more variety in their core values, but is is common for both Americans and Japanese to have a love of country, a love of their people, helping others, and so on. Japan is even very freedom of religion minded, like the US. Again, and tension or issues are the result of expression and expectations, and misunderstanding of communication. I have dated Asian women, in Asia and the US, for 16 years, being in a LTR with one for the past 15. Because he doesn't have practical experience, he doesn't understand that there IS a middle ground. A mutual growth and understanding of each other's cultures.

  47. There are real genetic attractions Asian women have to white men. You have to consider the nature of the woman, she is looking for DNA that will benefit her child as much as she can. A lot of mixed white/asians have features that are traditionally considered very attractive in Asia. This has a real appeal in the nether regions.
