I think part of it is exacerbated by the fact that during covid almost no one visited. So a couple years of that creates a more extreme contrast.

Lol. Accurate.

Part of the reason why Japan's yen is weak is due to how the Japanese central bank monetizes its debt.

@shizuokaBLUES Exactly. English will help them communicate with tourists from all over the world, not just Americans. Most Chinese have years of English in school, so between them and India that's probably 2 billion English speakers. There are English speakers from virtually every country. I'd say something like half the world speaks some degree of English.

@flyinggecko6617 Anyone who wants tourists in any country should adapt to them to at least some degree, that is common sense. If you are not adaptive people won't want to be tourists in your country.
3
@toruweber Not at all. You don't even know anything about the person who made the comment. They don't like tourism because of the bad actors and weak yen, not because some guy had a common sense opinion.

Reduce blax and reduce a large part of your problem .
2
That's def part of it. Also, the Japanese central bank is a big reason for the weak yen, due to how they monetize the national debt and control interest rates.
2
@xcjsmith5310 I'd say so.

I can't believe people act like such asses in Japan.
2
Japan, like America, is a victim of the central bankers.
2
@johnkinsey6117 WTF are you talking about?
1
@toruweber Sometimes it is one or the other.
1
@Alpha-Omega-TFOA Ok but its not like that happens all over Japan or anything. We foreigners should keep our own people in line.
1
We can. When you are there keep the other tourists in line.
1
@ShaiyanHossain More tourists are east Asian but the ones who cause real problems are not.
1
I know you may disagree, but I do not consider her Dutch.
1
@3ndeavor No, occasionally rude but it's rare, def not destructive, but a big complaint here was about the weak yen, obnoxious tourists is only part of it.
1
@atari460 Of course there are more Chinese tourists, and they are DEFINITELY rude, rule breaking and obnoxious and totally disrespectful of Thai culture.
1
@3ndeavor What damage are they really doing?
1
It isn't. Who said it was? Besides, comparing tourism to immigration is nonsense.
