  1. I like Hanke, but he is smoking crack if he thinks inflation will be down to below 2% by the end of the year. This is a case of being blinded by academia.

  2. Except for a decrease in commodity supply which inflates prices, but not the currency. Inflation in it's strictest sense though is indeed a monetary phenomenon.

  3. The thing is that the debt is nonsense. It's like if the banker in Monopoly was playing, and created money/credit and loaned it to himself, they paid it off with more money created out of thin air. Who is the US in debt to when the Federal Reserve holds the vast majority of the debt? Do you not see the game being played?
