  1. For many of them it is an irrational hatred of Bernie, as they would like to beat Trump and Bernie has the best chance of doing so. For the other liberals, it is a very rational hatred as Bernie is against the neoliberal heart of their worldview. These people would rather lose to Trump and hunker down for another four years.

  2. Voters over 50 who rely on landlines and who answer calls from numbers that they don't know. You have to put it all together. Just as the polls may not represent young voters, in general, the polls may also not represent different segments of the older voting population. I know many older people who have come to rely on text messaging and avoid phone conversations.
