  1. Its relative man. Cities are more expensive, so even if you're making $200k a year, its going to cost you $180k+ a year to live there. There are more ways to earn a living and make bank than doing the 'office space' grind. I mean you say go to Thailand to live cheap.. ITS THE EXACT SAME THING. Make money somewhere other than the local economy, and live in a place where its inexpensive. Around here I am kinda somewhat 'rich.' I have about $5500 a month take home coming in, while most people in this area of Michigan are lucky to make $1500. There is no industry here, its tourism based, with a couple mines and prisons. In a big city I would be living under a bridge, or sleeping on a floor with a dozen other people. To hellwithdat. I made my money elsewhere, and live inexpensively enough that I paid off my land in 8 years. I got a ten year mortgage, but still, it was early. Doing a 30 year note is daft. I could be making a lot more from yt, but I don't really need to. The content I make takes a huge investment, then a ton of work, and really the videos are me showing others how to, or motivating them. I need the shop, tools equipment, parts, supplies, and the vehicles themselves. You get to sit there and talk, I have to spin wrenches and put in physical effort to make a video. Thing is.. I like doing the car thing. It relaxes and satisfies me. I don't need to be a millionaire to enjoy my life.

  3. @ sucks to be you. When it gets expensive and jobs didn't pay well enough, I moved. If Michigan goes all pointy headed usssssr I will move again.
