I've been rolling with $120 to $200 a week for groceries, but its all fresh fruit and meat, nothing processed, and I cook everything. Included in that is putting some food away in long term storage. I get lots of snow in winter, so I have enough to easily go three months without going into town. My land and home is paid off since 2021, bought it in 2013. I don't need car loans, and I drive cool stuff like a 70 Cuda and 65 GTO. I am building others, I am big into cars so my life is built around the car thing.
I cannot stand cities, I drive around them if possible. Give me open fields, trees, lakes, and nature. I will not live in a city. I traveled the world in my 20s and 30s with the USAF. When I wasn't on duty, I was off exploring and getting to know the culture of where I was. Best thing I ever did for myself was meeting people in Asia, Europe, and Africa away from the tourist spots, and 'retiring' to the woods of northern Michigan.
I've been to over 40 countries, but only Korea in east Asia. I wanted to check out the other places like Japan, PI, Thailand, but I haven't yet. Get out of the country you were born in, and discover the world, and get out of the cities because they are a trap.
