  1. Thats kinda like the military life, except people aren't trying to ventilate you and you don't have to put up with certain things, like shaving and weight limits.. heh. I was in Dubai in 1991, it was a bit different then. Traveled all over Europe 89-91, when I wasn't stuck on the flightline working airplanes for months on end because of Desert Shield/Storm. Went to Korea for a year too, that was enjoyable other than the personal things going on, namely a divorce. Kuwait has a really nice Hilton, the USAF put me up in it with a $350 a night room to myself om 2004. I live in a very scenic part of the lower 48 states, the upper peninsula of Michigan. Every time I drive into town is a trip through beautiful places with overlooks of Lake Superior. Right now in mid to late October the trees have changed and its stunning... just like every year. Soon the snow will come and I will be buried under several feet of it. Spring is always most welcome, April dumps a blizzard on us at least once but usually twice, so its annoying. My closest sibling is 1000 miles away. I like a life of isolation, after the military I am accustomed to it. I am used to not seeing friends for years, and not talking to other people for months. Sometimes I go so long without talking that my voice surprises me. I could travel the world, and be an expat super easy, but I am big into muscle cars from the 60s and 70s. I own 13 acres of land, built my house on it, the shop where I build my cars, and I can grow food, produce fuel, and live off my land entirely if I have to.
