  1. I respect both of you VERY much, and appreciate the work you both have done over the years. I am not a conservative, I am an atheist classical liberal, considerably alike to Ben Franklin, and to a certain extent Thomas Paine.. You said conservatives were resentful of democrats when they voted for Trump. That is not entirely accurate, and while it might be true for many who had voted for Obama and wer thusly disenfranchised by his actions, it is not indicative of the conservatives and classical liberals such as myself Many of us no longer on the left are averse to authoritarians, Hillary wore her authoritarian war mongering like a full body suit. She made no effort to hide her glee at ending the lives of foreign leaders, she showed her abject disdain for we the people, she flaunted laws that had I done anything even close to what she did while I was in the US military would have resulted in my incarceration for at least ten years. Resentment is not the key, fear is not the key either though it is a larger component. Basic survival, that is why so many voted against Hillary. Having been through two wars in 90-91, and 2003-04, deployed to Kuwait on 9/11, having listened to what these politicians said leading up to those conflicts, seeing the weak limp wrist ineffectiveness of Bill Clinton whilst he eviscerated the US military that lead to the massive overreaction and invasion happy Bush administration, both of which were lining their pockets from the conflicts in which friends of mine came home in boxes.. I knew full well what was in store if Hillary was elected. Yet, in 2016 I did not vote. I left it up to everyone else, because I was NOT a fan of Trump, haven't been able to stand to listen to him since I first learned of who he was back in the 1980s. I figured Trump would be more war, and Hillary would be lots more war, abroad and at home. I am permanently disabled thanks to these useless wars that the politicians profited from, and we bled for, which means I am not a fan of war. The people I know who voted in '16 did not do so out of revenge or vengeance, it was out of self preservation. Those of us who voted for Trump last year also did it out of self preservation, and because the track record of democrats and the economy has been 'lackluster' at its most charitable. When Trump tried to end the useless wars against brown people for oil and opiates, and the rest of government did everything they could to stop him, which from my vantage point sure looks like they are protecting their income stream, he won me over. When he banned the marxist based critical race theory which says I am bad just because I easily sunburn and can piss standing up and not soak my feet, he won me over again. When he managed to revive the industry that Bill Clinton sent to Mexico (of which my jobs were included and prompted me to go back to the military to survive) I came to actually like him despite STILL not liking to hear him speak. Honestly I give zero fucks about the 'grabbing' remark, as it is 100% factual. When a female is sexually interested in you, she will not only allow but encourage you to do those sorts of things, they really like assertiveness and confidence. Its leftist spin that turned it into unwanted contact, if girls can want my crippled short ass like that and I am broke, some powerful taller than 6' guy with a few billion in his pocket is a shoe in. Obviously the Cheeto as I call him, talks like I do in some respects. He talks like a construction worker, mechanic, machinist, cold war military member, blue collar matter of fact why be all pleasant with overly verbose soft language. Obama was a stuffed shirt that acted more like a slightly masculine girl than a man. I bet homie can't even lift his own body weight. At the same time Clinton and Biden get a pass for their groping and other actions, and its ignored.. so obviously the leftists don't really give a damn about that sort of thing, unless they can use it as a cudgel against their opponents. Like Cavanaugh. Being military I have a certain penchant for history, having been there when lots of it happened, like being stationed in Frankfurt West Germany when the Berlin Wall fell, and I have a large chunk of it on my shelf next to me, and catching CNN and the rest in lies about what we were doing and when, because I was the NCO in charge of that certain thing, I see patterns from the past cropping up. Just like Mr. Murray's recent PragerU video about history, I like to learn from the past, and try to avoid the mistakes of those who came before us. Standing on the shoulders of giants indeed. What I see is current very recent history rhyming very closely with certain events in Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa, and Trump is actually an impediment to the horrors wrought by those events. I find myself among the 'other' that is maligned to create an exploitable rift in society. I am called every negative epithet they can conjure, by virtue of my German ancestry and unwillingness to embrace marxist ideology. Yeah a white guy who is all about liberty and against authoritarianism. Looking back to just a few scant years before my father was born in 1945, I see the similarities of what I am being falsely accused of by virtue of characteristics I did not choose. Something entirely antithetical to what the USA is supposed to be, and now it is in the oval office once again. I am among the other, the nebulous oppressor class, and already there is talk about persecuting anyone who does not follow the ideology of the left. You see from my perspective socialists, communists, feminists, fascists, and progressives are all cut from the same cloth. Its the same pile of shit with different sprinkles. Its victim olympics, oppressor/oppressed, power and control, authoritarian top down celebration of mediocrity, at the expense of merit, competence, and achievement. I am one of millions outside that abhorrent ideology.. and I used to be center left. They have moved so far left that they think the entire world has to be socialist, and that is the only way it makes sense that the goosestepping morons in Hugo Boss uniforms were 'far right' because those assholes were freakin socialists. So it was not resentment, it was not vengeance for 'losing battles against the leftists' its all about our own survival. Unlike the leftists who wish to erase history (ostensibly so they can repeat their favorite parts of it e.g. gulags, camps, starvation, mass graves, etc) I and many others like me LEARN from history, and humans are quite adept at spotting patterns. When they spew the same rhetoric, with some of the nomenclature changed, as the likes of Karl, Vladimir, Joseph, Adolf, and Mao its not hard to see where they are headed. If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, shits like a duck, and quacks like a duck.. its not an fuzzy pet bunny. Seriously, take anything they write or say, plug in one of the 'evil others' from eastern Europe and you have the same damn rhetoric as those who gave us the Gulag Archipelago, Auschwitz, Dachau, Ukraine famine, Killing Fields, and others. They chose the wrong 'other' this time. We are not a bunch of serfs living hand to mouth with no means of resistance, beholden to the government for our very existence and thus at its mercy. Remember, I am a green energy producing atheist who has perhaps a few too many gay and trans friends, that has been engaged to girls other than white, loved meeting new people and learning about their culture in my world travels, for me to fit the narrative that everyone who isn't a marxist has to be a klan member who adores Adolf and his idiots, while oppressing people far more resistant to UV light than we are. All you need to do is read their literature and you can see that its marxist 101 to call non marxists every bad name they can conjure. When/if I am evicted from my meat suit in a future conflict, I bequeath my chunk of poorly made concrete with BERLIN 1989 scrawled on it in sharpie to both of you. If I die in my sleep or at the controls of one of my vehicles, my daughter gets it. Its nearly circumnavigated the world with me as it sat on the windowsill of my room at Rhein Main AB until 1991, and Osan AB in 2002-2003. Its about survival. I have no plans to go quietly into the mass grave.

  2. @Big Muff my friend, I have been through it. Not only false accusations, but the fact my bipolar first ex was assaulting me and abusing our two daughters, and was rewarded for it. I was punished for what she did. Mind you I am not a small, weak, timid man, I am a heavily muscled combat veteran who can seriously injure people easily with just my hands. So the cops would always ask if I touched her, and never cared that she had stabbed me or hit me with something. I have a divot in the back of my skull from a coffee mug she hurled at me. It was a relief when she left.. I got to see my kids a total of 12 days over the next 7 years starting in 2001. TWELVE DAYS in seven years. During that time they were garnishing 71% of my gross pay, and the state helped her hide the kids from me when I came home on leave to see them. It would take me months to save up enough money to drive 1500miles home, or I would catch a military plane to a nearby base and have my parents pick me up. I lived in my car, I ate once a day. I had $100a month to live on and nobody cared. Still nobody cares. I'm male, why would they? The second one cheated, she felt guilty so she falsely accused me, got a restraining order, and concocted a scheme with her boyfriend who worked for the local sheriff as an EMT. They fired him two weeks later because he is a worthless pos, but thats irrelevant to this. The prosecutor did everything she could to fuck me over, and I ended up sitting in jail for 15 days over something I could not physically have done. Also had to pay them $3000. Compared to the first I got off light. That was in 2013, the first ex was paid off in 2015. Both of my kids left their mother and moved 1000 miles away to where I live, to get away from her. They wanted to live with me, but the state would not allow it, saying veterans are dangerous and military men can get killed at any time, so they are unfit parents. A judge who was a Marine said that. Fuck that guy. Your kids will come around eventually when they realize you are not the crazy one. Just don't let what their mother does affect you around your kids. Don't get mad at her when they are around. While the 1st ex is addicted to oxy, turns 50 next year, weighs 300lbs, her second husband finally had enough and left as she was controlling and abusing him as well.... the 2nd ex turns 40 in August, her 'soulmate' left her after 5 years leeching from her father, because neither of them could keep a job. She likes to call the state police when she sees me in public. Just because she sees me. I lost my home with both of those, lived in cars and on friends couches. It 2013, two weeks after the divorce was final, I closed on 13 acres of woodland. I sold some old car parts, and my parents gave me a couple grand for the down payment. In 2015 when the first ex was paid off, I put all of that cash towards building my home and a shop on my land. I built a 32x48x12 shop, 5" thick concrete floor, and a lift to work on my old cars. The only thing I managed to keep from the first divorce was a bunch of old rusty cars that she did not want, because they were not shiny. The 2nd ex knew if she went after the cars or my military compensation, she would get nothing, but have to clean up after the massive fire and pick up chunks of my gray matter. So she left me alone. In February 2021 I paid off my mortgage and the building loans I took out. I am now living debt free, and no bank nor female can take it from me. I can build my cars without having to worry about my money going to someone who does not deserve it, or who mistreats me. I live alone in the woods with two Siberian Huskies, and I drive cool vehicles all summer. I will be 53 years old here soon, and life is good now. I busted my ass to make it good. I was 32 when the first ex financially destroyed me. 44 when the second one had me thrown in jail for things I did not do. Now less than ten years later I am doing better than both of them, and better than I ever did with them in my life. I do what I want, when I want. If I want to buy a new expensive engine or another car, I just go get it since I have money in the bank for the first time since 1991. I don't have to concern myself with making sure someone else is taken care of. My daughters are 25 and 27, they are on their own and doing good considering the nightmare their mother put them through. Life gets better man. It takes a while to get out from under what the state does to us, but eventually we are free and what we earn goes to us.... not them. Do yourself a favor, don't be stupid like I was and never marry again. I won't let them live here either. I still date on occasion, but they get zero commitment from me. As it happens rebuilding severely rusted old GTOs is vastly less expensive than a female in my life. For the first time in my life... I am happy with it. Life is good. So hang in there and don't do anything stupid. Walk away, rebuild your life, and never look back. There is nothing there for you.

  14.  @karenness5588  for me the word trust has a much greater meaning and carries far more weight than it does for most people. I give everyone the same chances and opportunities to do the right thing, as opposed to the wrong things, and its no secret what that is. We all operate on the same page in most respects, like keeping your word, simply being trustworthy. Not lying goes a long way. I accept people will almost always act in their own self interest, and I figure that in allowing for that tendency in everyone. If someone is very irrational, they might be trustworthy with driving my vehicle but not with my finances or in a relationship. There are various levels to it. You hit on something about the video, they are feeling more than they are thinking when it comes to Trump. Allowing the media spin and the abrasiveness of the man to put emotional judgement ahead of the rational, logical one. If rough words makes someone feel that poorly about you, then it my view they are a bit too soft skinned. Every time Trump was accused of racism, I looked into it. I would watch the whole video, gritting my teeth listening to him speak, and I found none. Take him or anyone out of context and you can make it appear they said all kinds of fucked up things. The leftists do that to everyone. Its the only thing they know how to do, be disingenuous, deceptive, lie by omission, take out of context, and use every underhanded untrustworthy method to paint their opponents in the worst light possible.. until of course they ask you to join them, like be vice president.. then it was just a debate and nothing you said before matters. The word that best fits the left is incongruent. They are like a bipolar ex wife making shit up as she goes, accusing you of all the bad things she is doing, and blaming you for every failing of hers. I spent 8 years enduring someone like that, the violence, irrational arguments, untrustworthiness, lying, you name it she did it. I stayed to protect the kids from her as long as I could, then the state prevented me from being there. Duluth Model, thought up by marxists, where the man is always the violent guilty oppressor/aggressor, and the woman is always the helpless innocent victim. Yes I have found that abhorrent ideology everywhere in our legal system. Now they are putting laws in place that will enable them to legally rig every election.

  15. I figured this out trying to go off grid because the grid is VERY unstable where I live. The funny thing is I can produce fuel for my cars, grow food, and heat my home all with renewables, but making electricity is the hardest and most expensive form of energy to produce on your own. Its technically demanding, there is more to it than a windmill or solar panel. Sure I can run a generator on gasoline, methane, or ethanol, the last to of which I can produce easily and VERY cheaply, but there is noise and I still need to shut it down to change oil, and I am still limited on how much electricity I can get. A Stirling engine would be perfect. They are quiet, very efficient, will run on my biomass hot water heater, but finding one capable of turning a 9kw generator is proving difficult. We could put all the non-urban non-truck vehicles on locally produced ethanol, the urban vehicles being EVs because the range and low speeds make them viable to a greater extent, but we still need oil. Cattails yield more than 2x as much ethanol per acre as corn, and we could plant them in every ditch and median along every highway and road. We can still use corn because after fermentation and distillation the leftovers are a high quality livestock feed. Might as well use it twice or more times, instead of turning all that non digestible starch into farts. So ya know, getting better mileage on ethanol than on gasoline is rather simple. Same size engine, that will produce more power, only emit CO2 and H2O, but is incapable of running on gasoline, due to a very high compression ratio and different way of managing the heat. That has been my main project since 2007, and I have achieved better mileage than gasoline quite easily.. with considerably more power, less mass required for a cooling system, and my engines don't wear out.. ever. Still need oil and coal though. My project is a means of leaving me more cash every month to buy muscle car parts, tools, equipment, etc. rather than most of my income going to energy.. i.e. food - fuel - electricity. The fact that I can built some really wild high to over powered daily drivers was just as attractive as spending 10 to 40 cents per gallon to make the stuff. I'll be building another mileage mule with better aero than the last two, and also a 76 Chevy pickup to test mileage, in the coming months. Going to display what I have learned since 2007.

  20. Dr. Peterson, I have been involved with ethanol production in the US since 2007, not in a large industrial capacity, but a small personal produce it here - use it here operation. I use cattails (typha) to make ethanol fuel to power my vehicles. They are incredible plants. They will soak up all the nitrogen from livestock and other food production, growing far larger in doing so. They remediate water as it flows past them, and use those nitrates to produce more starch which they store in their roots (rhizomes). This is a well known aspect of these plants, and not only do they make at least double the ethanol per acre of corn, they are also edible for humans. There are some time constraints for producing ethanol with them, as they tend to rot if left out too long, which makes corn more convenient, but they dwarf corn for output of starch per acre, particularly when employed in remediating water. Cattails are an excruciatingly simple solution to the so called nitrogen problem. However it is not the solution desired as using cattail beds to remediate water does nothing to further the agenda of downsizing Europe's carbon that happens to be walking around and speaking. It would also put Europe on a solid footing producing transportation fuels, including methane which can be used to heat the stills. As it is all above ground renewable and not fossil fuels, this would be the go to solution to the problem rather than cutting food production and driving farmers off their land. As you might know, every tree and plant that falls to the ground and is broken down produces/releases methane and CO2. If there is so much concern over both of those trace elements in our atmosphere, by all means we should capture and utilize them should we not? Another area I have been working in is improving fuel mileage with ethanol fuels. Its actually quite simple to achieve greater fuel mileage on ethanol than is possible with gasoline. Its a matter of mechanical (static) compression ratio and utilization of heat to vaporize the fuel before its introduced to the intake plenum. It burns cooler, produces only CO2 and H2O rather than CO, NOx and the rest of emissions of gasoline. We could build very high compression smaller displacement engines which have a higher power output, efficiency, and require less coolant system mass and capacity. Lighter more efficient vehicles would result in NOT using gasoline at all as gasoline is severely limited by octane and its massive waste heat problem... which accounts for over 80% of its energy content. Additionally, when you run an engine on ethanol, methanol, hydrogen, or methane, it cleans the particulate and other pollutants that create smog. The air going into the engine is dirtier than the air coming out. Yes the 'problem' with my solutions, and other methods for things like heating my home, would make everyday common people more independent regarding energy, and thus less controllable, so it is doubtful that anyone, least of Dr Peterson will be able to read this. They really seem to enjoy hiding my comments and content about this project.

  21. Equal opportunity would be great, I would be in a completely different life if I had been offered the opportunities many others have had. According to my ASVAB and a test I took after my first enlistment to attend a VoTech school in Nebraska where I grew up, I am supposed to have a rather high IQ. Growing up I was on a restricted diet, ostensibly for allergies, but in reality it was my dad's smoking making me sick. Meat, broccoli, and cauliflower was what I lived on from age 4 until I was 14. Its still messing with me today, hence the name I use on here. Your body will store energy, converting protein to lipids if you don't get enough carbs and simple sugars. Along with being the overweight kid, I was the short kid, and at 14 I was still 4'9" and only grew to 5'8" when I was 20. It also dampened my intellect in school, and even more so my motivation. I simply did not care to get good grades or even do the work. My life was a fog that didn't really lift until I was 18. My family life was atrocious, growing up on a farm meant I got hit often. Have had PTSD since I was 8 or so. Older brother made my life a living hell until I was 16... at which point I harmed him enough that he never came near me again. We are in our late 50s and he is still afraid of me. Wrestling in school made me into a monster, strong and very capable. I bench pressed 265lbs when I was 17 and weighed 175lbs. I can lift a lot more than that now. Grades 1 to 6 I was sent to a parochial school that eschewed science and math for bible study, so I know the bible VERY well, but could not tell time without a digital clock until I figured it out myself when I was a senior in high school. I had no appreciable math skills, since the teachers essentially used flashcards for five minutes, and assumed that was good enough. It might be somewhat obvious, but my reading skills were post grad level when I was in 4th grade. In the 70s and 80s nobody noticed that incongruency, bad at math, exceptional at almost everything else, but unable to stay awake during class. I'd do the assignment in 5 minutes before class, and only turn enough of them in to pass. You could say I had a rough life, if I told you more about it YT would hide this. When I enlisted at 19, back in 1988, I learned small math skills playing spades and hearts with the Turkish national civilians who worked with us on base in Germany. I knew quite a bit of calc, trig, and other math from working as a machinist before I enlisted. As long as I had a calculator to do the small math, it was super easy for me. Sometimes I think I should learn more math, but instead I learn what I need rather than filling my synapses with things I don't need. German efficiency I suppose. Could I have been a high paid engineer had I not been sent to some children of the corn school and not forced on the restricted diet? Probably... but to be honest, money never really excited me, its more of a tool to do what I want to do a bit faster. I like to build things. I design it in my head, then make it a reality with my hands. I prefer working with metal, but wood, ceramics, and composites are within my ability as well. Sitting in an office all day is torturous to me, every job I ever had was hands on, including the USAF where I built pallets of cargo, pushed them on planes, and was worked so long and heavily that I gained 50lbs of muscle in less than a year in 1990, and my body wore out in 2004, because of the two largest airlifts in world history. I was in the middle of them, usually doing the work of 5 to 10 people. Also I had the highest ASVAB scores of my flight in basic, our scores were on the sign in roster and back then the USAF didn't use the aggregate, you were scored on individual aspects of the test. I had one area where I wasn't the highest score, and I was only two points lower than the other guy. In school everyone assumed I was Forest Gump, because I saw things differently, I visualized everything in my head, so I could turn it around and view it from multiple angles, then I could extrapolate possible and probable outcomes from various inputs. Apparently, that made me seem 'slower' than the other kids. Its also why flashcards hindered me greatly and I developed a mental block about math. When I was 9 I was already rebuilding small engines and driving farm equipment. By 11 I was building V8s and understood almost completely how they worked. I like building hotrods and street machines, I loathed working on minivans and boring front wheel drive econobox appliances that people use to commute. Fact is, I like where I am today, even if it means chronic pain and a limited fixed income. I do things with vehicles and engines that engineers say will not work. I am glad I was not put in the box where I disregard anything that hasn't been accepted as functional. I make things work simply because I am not aware that it will not work. Not having to make a cost analysis to assuage the concerns of bean counters means I am unencumbered by overabundance of fluff. I built the house I live in, and the shop where I work on cars, and I don't mean hired a contractor. I rented equipment to clear trees, then used those trees in the construction, then hired to guys to help put the roof on. I did all of it, other than the roof of the shop and house. How many engineers will tell you that an engine can achieve better mileage and power on ethanol than it can on gasoline? I've done it with several vehicles, its been my focus since 2007. Two years ago I started building a race car again, something to go have fun, mileage is not a concern with that one. I can show you how to do it, but you will not be able to run that engine on gasoline, it will rattle itself into pieces if you try. I know this is too long for people to read, and its somewhat off topic, but my point is this: A 4 year degree from a prestigious institution is not required for most people. In many ways it could stifle the creativity of someone like me, and they'd do much better with a VoTech that doesn't have a rigid structure and a boat load of useless prerequisites. Thats what I went to, work at your own pace, and I was doing 12 credits a month in automotive, 6 in mech engineering because that was classroom based. I wanted to pick up the knowledge I could not figure out on my own, and become aware of the small things you'd otherwise miss. I was building entire cars before I ever stepped foot in school, I was there for the fine adjustments so to speak. My sister nearly flunked out of the University of Nebraska, she went to party and had a 2.8GPA. I was taking engineering math, which wasn't my strong suit as we know from above, and had a 3.8GPA, while working a full time job as a CNC machinist/programmer. I own my land and am debt free, I can live on zero income, surviving off my land if I need to. If society collapses, I am still good.
