I'm not saving any money, but my daughter and I will be closer thanks to me not watching TV for the last 35 years. I am building her a drag car so we can go racing together. Its a good way for her to learn how to do all the work required keeping a vehicle running, so if she ever has kids, that knowledge can be passed along. Movies I like are very rare these days, if I watch it more than once I like it. So far the only movies in the last 15 years I have watched a second time were Ford vs Ferrari, and the John Wick movies, well the first two. The third is kinda meh. There are no good TV shows. Its all anti male crap and virtue signaling that makes my ex's favorite show 'designing women' look right wing.

@MRU79 why should everyone have equal representation? Should you or I have 1.1 million subscribers just because the Drinker does? I don't think so, he has earned it, put in the work, been consistent, and made quality content. Merit matters. It takes a surprising amount of work to create a video like this. Sure he doesn't create the video aspect as he is utilizing the trailers for the visuals, but what he says, how he phrases it, the point he makes, and how its all put together so it feels so seamless, easy, and remains congruent... that is where the effort lies. He has 1.11 million subscribers because he has earned them, not because he was given them for being Scottish or due to the fact he can piss standing up, heels together without getting his feet wet. The people with a marxist mindset are envious of what he and others have built, they want it for themselves, so they demand to have it without the effort and discipline required to achieve it. That is why movies are shit these days, why Rey and Mulan are perfect without any effort, its to sell the idea that merit doesn't matter, only if you squat to piss or have high resistance to UV light.

Along the same lines as the OP, I have seen to ads on YT today for Redwing boots. I have been wearing Redwing boots for a long time, because they hold up to the work I do for more than a year. Most shoes don't make it three months. Good shoes for working. Well about the ad. I find it curious because it shows a fat black chick with her weave hanging out all over, climbing down a ladder, then walking around the rebar and touching some wires that will be covered with concrete. I find this curious, because having worked construction tying rebar together, building foundations, and building my shop and house since I retired, I have yet to see a female out doing the hard work... a female of any amount of UV resistance... certainly not one with a two ax handle wide ass. Ok so the shoehorned a chick into the ad. On the face of it I have no problem with the fact she is female or not white, but the question I have is why? Men wear and buy these boots because they last doing hard work. To me its like Rey being awesome at everything without having put in any effort and lacking any discipline, they just dropped her in there because she is 'diverse' not because she will sell more $200+ work boots. Her hair hanging out everywhere is a safety hazard, get it caught in some machinery on the job site and find out how fast a PTO shaft will wad you into broken hamburger before it decapitates you.. so stunning and brave. They wanted to ensure you knew she was female.. doing a job precious few females do. Its a virtue signal, pure and simple. I hope they don't do like Carhart or Coke and proclaim everyone should obey and be less white, because its hard to find boots that will hold up to living out here in the woods working on vehicles and shit like I do.

@MRU79 yep I was not disagreeing with you, but expounding upon the idea.. and the whole notion of everyone needs equal representation is ludicrous. Most people don't matter and never will. Its just how it works. Hell I don't matter really, maybe a little bit because of what I did in a couple wars and projects I am working on that might go somewhere, but really... if I was never born, things would be about the same. I am a big fan of reality, and no matter how much someone wishes it were different, its not going to be what they want... the best they can do is work their ass off to make their own damn life what they want it to be, and not try to take it from others. Its not a zero sum game.

@xminusone1 awesome! I am building my kid a 72 Ventura, very healthy 400 with lots of compression running E85. I'm a huge Pontiac nut. She wants the 79 Formula and she might get to drive it too, but not with the 700hp Butler engine in it. I think a milder 461 is just right.

@SvensktTroll I did not mention that one, its older than my kids. I love that one, its from back when a low budget flick could be awesome. I am old enough to have seen Star Wars and ET in the theaters when they came out.

@SvensktTroll it did, you restored some of my faith in humanity. I should watch that again. My favorite line from that movie is when Rocko says "ITS IT DEAD?" I watched Midway again, its ok, kinda has some hollywood BS in it, not too woke though. I can watch WWII movies and earlier wars, most Vietnam stuff too. Desert war movies either piss me off or suck me in so I can smell it and feel it. Spent a bit too much time over there. The last deployment was a good one though, stayed at the Hilton in Kuwait city, got paid $86 a day just to be there, and got 5 months tax free. Kinda funny thats the one where I got fucked up. lol
