For every Kurt Russel, Keanu Reeves, and James Stewart, there are about 100 Seth Rogans. The misconception they have is that they seem to think we give a damn what they think, or that they have the authority to tell us what to do. The reality is, they are pretenders who pretend to be people who actually DO things, and read lines written by other people. If they want to give their opinion on that, by all means share it with the world how well you pretend to be capable people.
Those of us who are the people who actually DO and DID the things actors pretend to do, don't need their advice or direction, as they know somewhere between jack shit and foockall about what it takes to do it in real life. They are dancing monkeys, they are here to entertain us not to 'bless' us with their drivel and echo chamber derived bad ideas. Shut up and dance monkey dance, you aren't any more special than the rest of us monkeys, and I would say actors are less so.
FYI James Steward flew 20 combat missions over Germany in a B24, he led men in combat. Lee Marvin was a Marine in the pacific and survived island invasions. Tom Hanks pretends to be like them. Not that being in the military gives you special status or privilege, but men like James and Lee actually DID things portrayed in movies.
