I am old enough to not only remember when we went into Iraq and Afghanistan, I am old enough to have been in that one, and to have been in the one before that where we removed Iraq from Kuwait's ass... and I am old enough to have been stationed in Frankfurt West Germany when the Berlin Wall came down... Yes, cold war, Gulf War, OIF. Its a bit jarring to be invading a country in real time... you know, not watching it on TV but seeing it on the ground going in.
I didn't go to Afghanistan, but my little brother did. He flew Blackhawks there.
Trust me guys, as bad as you think it is... expect it to get worse. It can always get worse.
On the bright side I am too old and too broken to get drafted or called back. So remember kids, don't call sergeants 'Sir', we get a bit irritable...
