@mikeallan7740 I've often found it most amusing when someone says American muscle cars cannot turn corners or stop, of course if they're talking about a chevy or a Ford, they are usually correct. However Pontiac was already into turning corners and stopping in the mid 1960s, my 1970 GTO drives far better than the 1980 BMW 520 I had when I was stationed in Germany 30 years ago. My 1979 Trans Am with WS6, which is a handling and brake package, was better than any German car I drove over there too. A Camaro or Mustang was a scary ride over 80mph though. The faster I drive my 1970 to 1979 Formulas and Trans Ams, the more stable they are and 140 is no big deal in them.
I used a bunch of factory parts on my '65 GTO, swaybars front and rear, disc brakes, a fast ratio steering box, along with a few other parts, and it walked away from a friend's WRX STi on a twisty road. It would be better if I could run taller spindles on the front that change the geometry so the wheels lean inwards rather than outwards in a turn, but the control arms to do that won't fit with headers.
