@Longshanks1690 you're correct again. When I was attending a protestant parochial school, there was a massive push to see ourselves as victims. From being put in furnaces, lion cages, to being killed in the coliseum, christians have a huge desire to be victims instilled in them. It goes far beyond the blood sacrifice, and appears to be more about justifying any atrocity inflicted upon enemies.
Its a human nature thing, because non christians do it as well, however in overtly masculine societies and cultures, such as the samurai, being a victim is not lauded and aspired to. In that sort of culture being a victim is seen as being weak and without honor. Whereas the Abrahamic religions are more about obedience, compliance, with a healthy dose of shame thrown in.
All the time I hear about christians being victimized somewhere, all while touting how pious and righteous they are for being christians, like its their sole reason for existing, their meaning for life, and its what entirely encompasses them. They cannot see its the same sort of authoritarian ideology/religion that the marxists follow, where its all the state, nothing outside the state.
The commies quote Marx or Lenin, the christians quote the bible, as if either are going to sway people who take no stock in those religions. Claim I am going to hell when I don't believe in hell, and its an ineffective futile claim, same as accusing me of having some kind of privilege based entirely upon my resistance to UV light. They all see themselves as victims, that way they can justify what they do to others who do not share their delusion.
For what its worth though, I would much rather live among the christians than the marxists, because at least the christians appreciate merit, capability, and to some extent knowledge, whereas marxists laud incompetence, fragility, ineptitude, and ignorance. Here lately the chances of being killed in a christian area is far less than in a marxist state, but both see themselves as inherent victims.
Its not like Karl Marx didn't come from a jewish family, so it stands to reason his limited intellect would shoehorn his ideas into the Abrahamic template of guilt, shame, victimhood, and ignoring contradictions. He put it into a spin much like a spoiled 8 year old girl would. She wants a pony and the only reason she doesn't have a pony is someone stole it from her.
Its fun having been sent to a parochial school where we read the bible every day in lieu of doing math and science, then taking the time to learn another Abrahamic religion, and about marxism. It gives you an interesting perspective when you can remove yourself from all three. Most people who 'lose' their religion immediately go to another one, because they can't handle being forced to decide for themselves, they need to be told what to do and think.
