Dresden is the large city where my family came from, its in south eastern Germany. It was not a militarized city, no factories or war making production at all, and it was bombed in incendiaries that created a firestorm, like a hurricane but super heated and it suffocated people in bomb shelters. They did not do that because the party running Germany from '36-'45 was minding their own business. We bombed Tokyo the same way since most of the buildings were made of wood, wiping square miles of the city off the map and rendering it all dust, with more firestorms. More people died in the conventional bombing than both atom bombs combined. Most Japanese cities were bombed that way. That is what you do when a country decides to take over the countries around it, kill the people who lived there by the millions, and plan to make the entire world live under their rule. That is why Germany and Japan were bombed to dust by the end of 1945. Things for you to google to educate you some.. @bucky90269 about the bombs. Its hard to argue with the fact that after those two bombs were dropped, we have not had another major war in 75 years. We have had several small ones around the world, but nothing with the destruction of WWI and WWII. If not for the bombs, we would have had III already, but those abominations have a chilling effect on people who want to show their ass and get invasion happy on a large scale.

@bucky90269 He came out in the late 1970s or early 80s. I know to me it feels like a decade or so ago. My first war feels like not all that long ago, but next August it will be 30 years.
