They get money that they can start some enterprise. Lots of countries have Agniveer like schemes! Infact some countries have it compulsory for all. Atleast, India is keeping it optional for youth. Nothing wrong in it. Even Conservatives in UK said they would bring a similar scheme if they come to power in next elections. India doesn’t have the budget to take on so many soldiers for life and give pension for life. So Agniveer is a good alternative. Youth who do not get selected will still be young like n will have cash in hand when they come out so they can start some business or use that lump sum to study further. Beneficial for people who have no other way of getting such a huge amount. Rahul Gandhi talks of best case scenario in everything but he has no idea if India can afford or if the country has budget for all his plans. Everyone would want to send their kids to top schools n provide them with best of everything but there is a practicality issue. Not everyone can afford the best. We can only do how much budget a family has through its income. Same way, India would love to give the best to its citizens but we need to remember that we are a low income developing country which is drastically lagging behind Our Rival China in military technology. Most of Indian defence budget goes in soldier salary n pension. Hence we need to think of an alternative strategy where the military budget can be moved to buying n upgrading technology so that the country is capable of defending itself from China n possibly Pakistan if it’s a two front war. Rahul Gandhi due to his lack of experience and far sightedness doesn’t understand this simple logic n is using this as a vote tool. Then due to his unpreparedness, he would likely deliver the same loss as Nehru did in 1962 war!

@siddharthyadav3939 Most countries have military training options for youth. It’s seen as a good character building phase of life. Agniveer scheme is not compulsory like many other countries. Applicants within the age bracket of 17.5 to 21 years are eligible to participate in the Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment. Agniveer’s coming out are still very young, around the same age as a graduate. Can easily use the saved funds to afford good higher education and make a life! Plus Agniveers will be recruited in police forces, and other para military forces. They are also going to be having some education n other practical life skills that they can use after coming out. Or they can start some business and do part time education at the same time. A country has to make a good balance of pros n cons! Weapons karidneke paise desh ke pass nahi hoga tho itne soldiers rakne ka kya faida? Woh china jaise well equipped duhshman se kaise ladenge? Bina counter weapons ke woh zinda bachpayenge? Deshbki security se kaise compromise kar sakhte ho?? Thoda door ki socho!
