  1. My take is he was getting closer to revealing every day, every year. He realized he wasn't hit, but the emotional turmoil prior made him slow on his super senses. Kal-El is still an orphan and a farmboy. He isn't made of steel, emotionally. Also, to address the ease at which ANYONE could tell he's Superman wearing glasses, I say all Kryptonians have a degree of telepathy as well, and when he puts the glasses on, slumps his shoulders, acts meek, he also causes a visual hallucination in those around him when he is purposely acting like a milksop. A Kryptonian "acting" a role is convincing because the mindset they put themselves into affects mere mortal minds. So, in their visual perception, really their frail human brains, he appears shorter, chubbier. But once he purposely takes his glasses off, he stops the charade, reverts to powerful self confidence, and humans see an actual superior being before them. Remember when he was split into good and evil and fought himself? Kryptonians are essentially gods or angels and have way more powers than strength, flight. In Greek Mythology, mortals sometimes tricked or seduced immortals. In fact, I like the idea of many deities, such as the Greek Gods being Kryptonian offshoots, and that would make Wonder Woman, a cousin of Krypton. And they should bang.
