  13. I agree. And thank you for your service. Allow me to be devils advocate, none of these fools thought a fire would occur and had no intention to harm people or property. Culpable, are the products/companies made for this one-time, useless activity, and the many people who glamourized it, made it seem harmless. One reason I support imprisonment, is so that a person isn't destroyed by guilt and shamed, one must feel they were punished for a loss of life, property if they are to move on. But, I don't believe one or more people should be forced into suicidal feelings by the entire community. Your comrade perished needlessly, but please acknowledge, it's a dangerous career, and whether he perished by a preventable wildfire or a nature caused one, the results are the same, and anyone of you could have same fate. Though I respect your courage for battling fire. Again, I am playing devils advocate. But, I agree: punishment and prevention is necessary. Thank you. This is my only serious comment on here. The rest are jokes, but no disrespect meant towards your line of work, which honestly, is the most dangerous, necessary work on earth.

  23.  @suckonmahd  That kind of damage, though negligent as opposed to malicious, does require some time. I personally don't believe in destroying a person, they gave a family to raise, but a year sounds right. It does not undo damage, but helps with atonement and sends a message.

I would make the manufacturers of all products used have to take same tour. And high school students, the key is prevention, education. Not punishing every fool. This thing became too easy to do. And widely celebrated. In a war, you don't capture one soldier and execute him. You demoralize and deprive the entire opposing army.
