  4.  @chrishnah  post 9/11 is just coincidental. Materialism ruled the two previous decades. If anything, that day made some people rethink their values, even if it didn't stick. It's the byproducts of a 1994-on digital world converted into smartphones, social media and dating apps. People are less present. At least among people. Hell, this is my life. Family is broken, created subfamilies. Clannish. The friends and lovers moved on.
