I see him as motherless. She probably died before he could remember her. He probably had a father figure, but a cold one. Growing up, other kids would have thought him creepy, but he matured faster than the other boys, developing manly qualities, making him attractive to young girls and older women both. He probably had at least one major trauma and his already detached, possibly autistic personality became more sullen, observant. Killed someone early in life, but didn't as much feel enjoyment as amazed at how easy it was, how guiltless he felt. I could see him ,accidentally or on purpose killing a woman during sex, and laying with her body for days, more in live with the corpse than the human. He hunted a lot, probably taught by a psychopathic father figure. Whom he killed, of course.

He was born fucked up, a throwback to a time when being ruthless was beneficial. But, of course he would be badly parented, as well. Or orphaned. He sees everyone's death as fate, and early parental death Probably confirmed it early in life. Seeing the world as lawless, pointless, loveless..he decided to keep a code of honour to keep some sense of reason, virtue. But, he ultimately sees humans as cattle. Some impress him enough to belay their slaughter, like rancher or hunter might spare a particularly feisty or wiley animal. He does like to kill, but to ease what little conscience he has, he makes it a choice, or a random twist of fate, whom he serves. His ancestors were Kings, barbarians, soldiers. He is from 1,000 years ago.
