The high cost was in the past driven largely by scarce, sky-high raw material cost, which has since come down quite substantially in price. The EV OEMs still need to scale up their production to make affordable, profitable EV/batteries though.

@vltruan These M3s have China's LFP batteries. According to Cleanerwatt, for instance, they degrade twice as fast as non-LFP EVs -- 10% range loss only after 50K miles.
