>> Germany is right next to Poland and can easily export vast quantities spare parts and ammo. << Yeah, you would think. The evil Soviet collapsed over three decades ago and the West has been cutting back on defense and the armament industry went south. South Korea on the other hand is still at war and is among the few that produce tanks and ammos at economies of scale. They are also very eager to diversify their manufacturing base and share/transfer their tech (ie, licensing) with allies to reduce the arms development cost.

I think the K2s are built by Hyundai Rotem. I work as a software engineer and our industry's "break fast, fail often" motto doesn't really bode well in appliance business.

@dou5689 : not sure about Hyundai. They make some of the most exciting ICE/EV cars these days for both enthusiasts and average joe drivers.

@Joseph-eh4rs : Yeah, I can't help noticing that there are so many Japanese bots here trolling South Korea's ammo sales to Poland.

@atmark666 : >> we thank Poland not ROK. they are just profiting from the war. <<< Reinmetall's price for a 155mm is estimated to be over 3.3K euro. Based on a recent report of sales to Canada, the South Korean millitary is sending simple 155mm ammos from their stockpile at a lower price, or about $350+ per shell, so Canada can backfill ammos sent to Ukraine. I suspect that Poland is also getting similar deal. Where is their profit? I say South Korea start charging a 950% markup to European customers to justify @atmark666's accusation. Just unbelievable!

@gwanlee : The K2 costs $8.5M/unit vs. Leopard 2a7s $5.xM. Not cheaper.
