  1. You missed a major issue. Until mid-1939 the FAA was part of the RAF.

  2. ​ @exF3-86  all Ed says is that the RAF refused to allow any of their fighter aircraft to be sent to the FAA. That doesn't mean that the FAA was part of the RAF in any way, shape or form. The RAF was ignoring the needs of the FAA over those of those parts of the RAF thatvrenained on land and didn't go to sea.

  4. Between 1924 and 1939 the FAA was part of the RAF and not the Royal Navy. The Navy didn't get effective control of the FAA until mid-August 1939.
